There is a song out there called "Poker Face" by an artist called Lady Gaga ( I know right). I LOVE the beat of the song. The words however aren't the best for little ears. That said, my son loves the music and I have let him listen to it.... till now when he's picking out more of the words.
Today Jack gave me a loving and wonderful 2 year old tantrum and it was a raging one. We had gone to a water park with my MIL and SIL's and their kids. It was fun and when we came home the 2 year old who desperatly needs control broke free. He screamed and stomped his feet but his Momma wouldn't give in. Mean Momma. He finally (after almost going hoarse mind you) calmed down and opened his door to ask for some water and a banana. Somewhere in the span of a tantrum the devil crawled off Jack's shoulder and gave up. He was pleasent... he was sweet and when I returned with his banana and water he was singing "My poker face, my poker face"
Instead of keeping my mean Momma face on I too broke my poker face and giggle out loud at my child. I have never been someone to keep my thoughts or feelings to my self (surprise surprise) but in this moment it felt good to release the frustration and laugh at my babe.
*****Please note the date on the camera is wrong... it's 2009 and it's 7-21.
