Funny how that works...

Today has been such a great day. Jack went to "school" and Luke took a nap. I was her today and received a few compliments on my hair. I saw my friend Jenny as well as my friend Dona and their cutie pies. We talked about all the "mom" things... from how many more kiddos we would like to have to what is the current status of the P war. We even mentioned some of my favorite blogs from Stephanie, Darcie and Erin . (holy crap am I hyperlinking like a mad woman today) (2nd side thought: I name the above 3 by first name but in all honesty I just adore reading their blogs and have never met them or even "talked" much to any of them.
Today was so very ordinary and yet very extraordinary. I was blessed with more than an hour of great girl talk...more then an hour or play time with EACH of my children individually and although when I started typing this was about an hour ago, my Jack Jack came downstairs and for the first time in a while he snuggled with me and let me hold him, stroke his hair and just love him. I was lucky to have made Luke laugh out loud multiple times, shared in the wonderment of Jack climbing the wrong way up the slide but being so proud of himself for this accomplishment. (it was a very tall slide) He was a good friend and a good listener. Luke ate "real" food for the most part today and I paused to just take in how much has changed in such a small amount of time.

Today I realized that no matter how many tantrums, piles of poop that hit the floor on the way from the pants to the toilet, fights with me about Juice versus Milk, I will never stop loving having the "job" I have. Being a Mom is the best thing I have ever been. I'm not great at it and some days I'm downright horrible but today I was a great mom.... Funny how that works. It's going from thinking what did I get myself into, to how will I ever do this, to how will I ever do this with two.... to the realization that I can do it ,I enjoy it more & more and I'm good at it.
