Only a Mom would understand.....

Another blog.... in like what 5 min. I know, I get it. I just thought this was too cute not to share. I also thought it deserved it's own space.

I received a call today from Dona. She was asking how things were and then stated

Dona: "You are going to probably think I'm strange but can you do me a huge favor?"

Me: "Sure, what's up?" (thinking she needed me to watch the kids last minute or something)

Dona: "So, Leila (her 2.5 yr old daughter) loves gymnastics and I told her she couldn't go to a class till she wore big girl undies and went potty in the toilet. She knows everyone in my family's voice and Justin (her hubby) thinks I'm nuts but I wanted you to call her and pretend to be the Gymnastics lady and tell her if she keeps going on the toilet then she can come to class and how excited you are for her" (I'm paraphrasing here)

Me: "Sure I will. That makes sense."

Dona: "Cool, I knew you would understand. I was going to ask a friend without kids but figured they would think I was crazy. I'm sooo excited Amy she went twice today for the first time(s) EVER. I did the potty dance and made Justin wear a hat as we danced around the house"

****I know this dance all too well and think it's a great idea to add hats. I wish I'd have thought of that.

****So being that Dona is now a soldier in my war against the poop I happily agreed to call. Here is how the call went.

Leila: "Hello, Mommy?"

Me: " Hi Leila, this is Shelia from the gymnastics place, how are you today?"

Leila: "Good."

Me: "I heard you went potty on the potty and now I would like to tell you that if you keep doing it you can come to class with me"

Leila: "My mommy told me I can come to class if I don't wear diapers anymore"

Me: " That's right Leila, where does the potty go?"

Leila: "In the toilet"

Me: "Good Leila. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see you in class"

Leila: (as she's hanging up the phone I think I hear) "Daddy that's the gymnastics lady"

I love this age and love that I have friends who are going through it too. Thanks to Dona for trusting me to help her out. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would do it again in a heartbeat.
