I hope you Dance...

Jen, that wise ol' Jen friend has a new post about soaking it all in. (check it out... I'm still blubbering in tears about it) Sometimes I feel like the girl reads my mind. I hate and loathe to talk about the same thing but since we both live in a state that doesn't offer up much in the way of beautiful days lately I can tell you that like her, we were at a park as soon as I arrived home from work today. Just making the most of the weather. See blog post "One Fall Day".

Today I also signed Jack up for an 8 week dance class at the suggestion of my friend Candi and a gymnastics class (for a later date) after hearing about my friend Tina's daughter Alison loving her classes. Mind you, both Candi and Tina have girls (Tina has a younger boy, Justin also) Upon discovering that there was a dance class that didn't require a recital and all the extras, I pitched the idea to Joe and since we both agreed that Jack is constantly dancing everywhere when he hears a tune, we thought it would be a fun thing for him. I will say that there are certain taboos that go with this. Joe had minor reservations about Jack getting picked on for it. However, he resigned that we were trying this out based on something Jack loves and we would deal with that if happened. I can say that I danced for 13 years and LOVED every moment of it. To this day, my favorite thing to do is dance in my kitchen with Joe and the kids... but I am getting off topic....

I piked Jack up and told him (with his older cousin Joey in tow) that he was going to get to attend dance class. His response was: "That's Awesome Mom" Joey's response was: "awww, I want to be in dance too" We then played in the park, had some dinner and Joe went to the store to get some dance shoes and other Target items.

Joe brought home black ballerina slippers and gave them to Jack to put on. Jack did so and promptly said "look at my dancing shoes Momma, they're pretty"!! His whole face lit up. I will admit that I cut off the little black bows and they seemed more manly :0). Once they were on, I was asked to turn on "Jessie's Girl" (yes, by Rick Springfield... I have NO clue where he heard it, but it's a constant request) He danced around and played. Wouldn't you know though... the cameras (video and digital) were both dead so all I have are the delightful images in my head.
Jack's Shoes! Seriously..How cute are these? (buh bye bows)

Jack I hope you dance through life as freely and happily as you did tonight. You are my little boy and with each passing day it seems your little Independence wings get a little stronger. While I know that this is good for you, it tugs at your Mommy's heart strings and makes me know that soon you will be all grown up. But for now, thank the good Lord, there is dancing. Dancing class and even better, dancing in the kitchen with your Mommy. XOXOXO
