Above is our lovely Christmas tree. But if you look out the window, you can see the storm starting to get heavy. This is at about 5 pm, right before dark.
This is at 6 am, after Joe tried in vein to get a snow blower started that we were given. You can see Joe's big foot prints in the snow. 7 inches on the ground, and blowing snow.
6 a.m. This doesn't capture the beauty that is all around us. I had good intentions of more daylight photo's to be captured today.
But life has been busy/stressful. Hope to post some more soon.
The tree skirt I mentioned that my mom hand sequined. All the letters and there is a reindeer and other little Christmas reminders on it as well.
Here is what I had intended to write about today but let drama and others get the best of me.
Today is Thursday in MN and we are 1 day post our first winter storm. The streets are slightly slippery with a hint of salt and sand for good measure. The sides of each street are covered in blankets of crisp and clean snow. It is so bright outside that I wear sunglasses and allow each and every window in my home to have no blinds on it because I love the natural light it is reflecting in. Everywhere you look there are little pink noses on the faces of the residents because the temperature reads 1 degree.
I love it here. It is beautiful to me. So very beautiful. You see it in the beauty of the wind kissed cheeks peeking out from their brightly colored scarves. I think that they make jackets, scarves and mittens here in festive colors to beat the drone that the cold eventually brings after the holiday season has passed and we have grey days for longer then we would like.
We have very large evergreens in our yard and they are heavy with the new snow. They look so lovely and soft. Like you could read a book on their branches (despite the bitter cold temps.)
It is my home.... the only real home I've ever known and it is beautiful like this.

I LOVE it! You can look at your tree and the snow at the same time!
I miss the snow SO much, but I have to be honest... I absolutely hate the mud that comes after it. So, don't worry about taking pictures of that for me :-)
Thank you!
