Fears.....

|
* I fully admit that I have blogged about this before so if you are sick of hearing about it, don't read. :)

I cannot quite put my finger on it but at some point in the last few months Jack developed fears.
Fears of Monsters, Dinosaurs, dark places and so on.

I don't blame him one bit but I also am at a loss for what to do with the side effects that these fears are having on our lifestyle.

These side effects are mostly fine but the one that is just killing us mentally and physically is the night time fears. He goes to bed, I'll admit later then he should most nights after the multiple requests for a drink, an extra book, going potty....ect.. He then falls asleep with x-mas lights on and a 40W bulb on as well. As if this isn't enough to calm him, we play music or a book on cd. He is usually asleep between 8:30 and 9:30.

Then around 11:30 he gets up. Eyes open and sometimes screaming. He comes into our room or knocks, bangs, screams and flips out at the locked door (if we remember to lock it) and comes in asking to sleep with us.

I'm fully admitting that we did allow this for some time and then it became every night as well as the two of us getting NO sleep from him being there. So, we have been trying for a month now to get him out of our bed. He is no longer allowed in the bed and can choose to sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag, or go back to his bed.

For a week or so the end of the bed was working...... however, now he's waking still at least 2 times more. When we ask whats wrong the answer is "I don't know"

It's becoming horrible. Crabby me and Crabby the man snapping at one another and the boys. We are also failing to get anything else accomplished. Beyond that, we are all feeling the lack of sleep sickies.

At this point I'm wondering if he's just pulling my chain or what.

I have to go now though... they are up.
