As stated in my previous post, I had a girls night last Friday evening with some amazing women that I have known for over 10 years.
It had me thinking about the fact that when these ladies and I graduated from H.S. we went to proex and had our photo taken to kind of have a keepsake because we knew that we would all be heading in very different directions.
In the last 10 years that has completely happened. While we live in a span of over 60 miles from one to the next in MN, we still make time for coffee every 2 months or so as well as a pampered chef party here and a bbq there. Sometimes we include the kids and hubby's and sometimes we don't.
Between all of us there have been 4 weddings, 9 babies (so far), a few funerals, even fewer fights, some pretty tough times, some pretty hilarious times and more then anything we have just been there. Been there to witness each other get married, have kids, get hurt by one guy or another, watch our parents and grandparents fall ill or even die. I can tell you that I can count on each and every one of them to be there for me at my most needed hour and while we are all very different, we do share the love of laughter and candor. The candor is what I LOVE most about them.
I can tell these girls pretty much anything and while they may laugh at me, they will still always be there for me.
From Left to Right is Me, Candi (in yellow) and below without glasses is Tina and with glasses is Andrea. The only one missing from the original is Wendy. Below is the original (thanks to Wendy finding it for me). We look so young down here and then I look above and feel so old......Ok we aren't old but I will be the first of the bunch to turn 30. YUCK.
Candi, is the one I love to gossip with most because she gets into it and can be more cynical and sarcastic then me. She is also the most bluntly honest and once told me not to walk out of a dressing room because the dress looked that bad. I love her for this.
Tina is the devils advocate (as I mentioned before). She tends to see things from multiple sides, and is always one to call if advice is needed regarding crazy relatives. She's very level headed and a typical firstborn. She also cooks better then me (and less out of a box) she's always clipping coupons too.
Andrea is a blast. She's the typical self proclaimed ditz but as sweet as apple pie. She was the first to get married and have a baby. She's also the last to turn 30. She's always sending good thoughts your way and encouraging you to have a great day. She's one of those people who's happy 99% of the time and super funny.
Wendy I have known the longest, and was with me the day I met my husband 17 years ago. While we don't see her nearly as often, she's an amazing friend and would give the shirt off her back for us.
As for what they might say about me? Candi is probably the only one who reads this of the group so she'd be the only one to dispute it.
They would say I'm sensitive, loud, funny (sometimes) I don't take enough time for me, I don't ask for help enough, I have no fashion sense and that I love them and need them in my life. That's just a guess by the way!!
I love you ladies.
